Environmental Compliance & Consulting

Regulatory approvals, audits and documentation that stand up to inspection.

Environmental regulation changes faster than most organisations can track, and the cost of discovering a gap during an inspection is far higher than the cost of closing it beforehand. We work with industries, quarries, hotels, commercial establishments, government bodies and residential communities to establish exactly where they stand, what is required of them, and how to get there without disrupting operations.

What we deliver

  • Regulatory approvals and statutory compliance support
  • Environmental documentation, reporting and management plans
  • Environmental audits and site compliance assessments
  • Environmental monitoring and baseline studies

Regulatory approvals and statutory compliance support

Applications and supporting documentation prepared to the standard the reviewing authority expects, with the technical annexures assembled correctly the first time. We identify which approvals a site actually needs before work begins, so the sequence of applications matches the sequence of construction or operation rather than holding it up.

Environmental documentation, reporting and management plans

Environmental management plans, periodic returns and compliance reports written to be used rather than filed. A management plan is only useful if the people running the site can act on it, so we write them against the actual operating reality — who does what, at what frequency, and what the record looks like when it is done.

Environmental audits and site compliance assessments

A structured walk through the site against the obligations that apply to it, producing a clear register of what is compliant, what is not, and what is at risk. Findings are prioritised by exposure and effort, so limited budgets go to the gaps that matter most rather than the ones that are simply easiest to close.

Environmental monitoring and baseline studies

Baseline studies establish the environmental conditions at a site before a project changes them — the reference point every later claim depends on. Sampling design, parameter selection and reporting are matched to the decision the data has to support, whether that is an impact assessment, a treatment design or a compliance record.

Common questions

When should a baseline study be carried out?
Before any site activity that could alter environmental conditions. A baseline established after work has started cannot be used to demonstrate what the project did or did not change, which weakens both impact assessment and later compliance reporting.
What is the difference between an environmental audit and a compliance assessment?
A compliance assessment checks a site against the specific obligations that currently apply to it. An environmental audit is broader — it also examines management systems, monitoring practice, record keeping and the risks that are not yet regulatory failures but are heading that way.
Do you support sites that are already non-compliant?
Yes. Establishing the actual position through an audit is the first step, followed by a prioritised remediation and documentation plan. Bringing an existing site into compliance is a substantial share of the work we do.

Describe what you are dealing with and we will tell you what it needs, what it involves and roughly how long it takes. No obligation either way.
